Happy Memorial Day. It is probably never said quite enough, but we appreciate all you've done for us.
The fact that you are also skiers, well, that's even cooler!

Some of us [maybe all of us] owe our very lives to the men who fought and lived, and the men who fought and died, in WW II. Whenever I meet a vet I know was there, I say, out loud and to his face, "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."

Nah, most of us would still be alive; we'd just be typing stuff in Deutsche. Danke.

And the Rev War, and the War of 1812, and Spanish Amer. War, and WWI, and Korean War, and Viet Nam, and Gulf War, and Panama, and whatever I missed, and those who didn't see combat but had to listen to their drill sergeants anyway at 5AM. May we always be ready to defend yet always pray for peace.

In Goldsboro, N.C. next to Seymore Johnson AFB some people would complain about the fighter jet noise especially touch and go practice. I'd tell them, "That's the sound of freedom!"

Did you accompany Nixon and AF1 to Guam?

You are all welcome, and its not completely off topic. We take for granted our ability to travel freely, and ski wherever we want, or ski at all. Whether we agree with the morality of any specific war or not, I feel that is important to give thanks to those who have been willing to defend our freedom.

All vets deserve equal reverance.
Even those who have fought wars which were not for our freedom . . . but to maintain the status quo for the ruling class. Nonetheless, the vets themselves are not to blame for such decisions, they were out there fighting loyally for their country.
