K2 Winterheat

I'm an ex Canadian amateur freestyle bump skier from the days when K2 Winterheats were cool....our weapon of choice for bump skis back then was a 195 - 205 slalom ski because they were quick from edge to edge had good edge bite on hard snow.

My question relates to the skis Johnny Mosley used in Worldcup freestyle a few years ago - the top sheet of those skis was like the old "K2 Winterheat". I'd kill to get a pair of those. http://www.jonnymoseley.com/2007/photos.htm

New to the forum by the way so hello everyone. I'm out in Alberta, Canada near Sunshine, Louise, Fernie, Castle etc. Grew up skiing Whistler, Baker and Grouse when lift ticks were seven bucks.

Welcome,

Rumour has it that Moseley skied a QX11 with Winterheat graphics. I still have a pair of Winterheats from 1998 in 190 length but the bases are trashed.
The succeeding skis (the Moseley and 715) also had very similar graphics. My personal preference from back them though was still the F17.

F17

The Hart Freestyle is a ski I always wanted back then but could never get my hands on it or didn't have the money. Not many retailers (Can Ski, Comor Sports etc...) carried Harts. I was sponsored by K2 and received 244's and 710FO's direct from Vashon Island delivered by Greyhound to New Westminster BC those were the days man.

Are you sure they weren't Volkl's?

Don't call it a comeback...

Hart is re-releasing the F17, there could be some around this winter but they will be out for SIA.

We will see, there has been a lot of talk with Hart, not much has happened.:

'The Ski" never left, Bobbie has been making a couple of pair here and there every year. But as a "The Ski" lover and collector, There is a rumour out there and I hope it happens.:

Natsukashiiii!! My first skis were a pair of hand-me-down Winterheats, 180s with plate bindings.

Plate bindings on a Winterheat is not cool...hahaha!
Yeah, I fell out of love with the bindings after one day trip; went down to the nearest ski shop and had a set of Tyrolias put on. Skied about 20 days on the Winterheats in that first season, then bought a pair of K2 610s at 190cm for the following season.

I think maybe they were Spademan, but don't really remember.

I skied my 207 Winter Heats with Nordica Bannanas and Look Nevadas for many years because I couldn't afford to replace them (at least in my own mind). They were a decent ski until I skied them into noodles.

Spademan were very cool indeed, at least for the freedogger crowd, especially in combination with Scott Superhots...

Unfortunately after skiing Scotts for a couple seasons I had to have my heel amputated.
