Christmas in Whistler

Thread Starter
Hi there,
I'm planning a trip to Whistler over Christmas with a couple friends and 2 dogs. We are planning to arrive on the 23rd, ski Christmas Eve and Day and depart on the 26th. Does anyone know of any inexpensive lodging near Whistler for a short stay such as this. Any information or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You're going to have a tough time finding lodging for less than a week. That is the busiest time of the year for Whistler and I would bet that most of the places are already booked. Inexpensive lodging is not available for any duration that week. You could possibly get lodging in Squamish or Pemberton or somewhere along the highway and drive to the ski area.

Good luck!

try www.vrbo.com or http://alluradirect.com/ for condo rentals. but you're unlikely to find deals at that time period.

Nothing about your trip will be cheap. It's the most expensive time of the year for lift tickets, accommodations, and nightlife. But if you come the week before, you'll get some of the best deals of the year.

You can save on lift tickets by getting them at the 7-11 in Squamish.

While I generally agree with the above, you actually should be ok as the real Xmas peak starts just after Christmas day...ie people spend christmas at home, travel the 26th....hence your plans are very reasonable.

Try the Coast Whistler Hotel....about $130/night...no minimum stay....and your walking distance to the gondolas.......not sure about the dogs thou....the only hotel that allows dogs that I know for sure is the Chateau, but that is alot more expensive, but it is ski in/out. The Coast might allow dogs, not sure, worth asking. Allura Direct is also a good suggestion.

A lot of the hotels at Whistler require minimum night stays during Christmas. If you have flexability, then look for last minute deals on the Whistler website, otherwise alluradirect is a good way to go.
