This week's backyard ski area is right up there with the others I have featured!

The entire review is blogged at
http://www.skiingathome.com

I still need backyard areas to keep this rolling weekly, how long will I have something to write about each week?

Still waiting for a hill to be submitted from out west?

I know, the setup is a pretty sweet one!

I think it is cool that he as able to get parts from a ski area to make his backyard lift. That is DEDICATION!

Ski or Skiing Mag this Month features Warren Miller talking about the joys of a rope tow.....he cited this as a reason skiing grew so popular by the 60's--it was affordable.

Maybe he will get wind of your site. I hope so...you are doing good work.

On the PA ski area...I would love to ski it with him...does he open it to the non-public, like Epic Supporters?

I am pretty sure that none of these guys (including myself) open their hill simply becuause of lawsuits.

Last year we opened a hill on the farm up to a group of kids in the community to sled on and I was threatened to be sued because a girl went sledding without her mothers permission and I didn't have a permission form. The mother was at work and the girl came over with a group of friends.

You can't do anything nice for anyone anymore....

People suck. That is a really depressing story.

The backyard ski areas rock though.

It seems extremely decadent and environmentally irresponsible to make snow for personal use. "I ski for free" please, give me a break. Wouldn't the skiing be a lot better and cost a lot less if you simply drove to the nearest commercial ski area and bought a lift ticket?

FAIL.

Clearly you've let the terruists win. This is America. If a man can't make some snow in his backyard, next thing you know they'll come for our skis, and then we'll be left with nothing to protect ourselves from...the boredom.

/seriously, i don't think this is a big deal. what is this supposed giant ecological problem here?

I skied free lots last year....is it better at Snowshoe or anywhere else...no. I do it because it is fun. I am sure you must really hate ski resorts that make snow.....how "irresponsible."

This is America, you can say what you want, while other skiers and myself will do what we want.
