Raptor Supershape RS for intermediates?

I'm an advancing intermediate continuing to develop carving skills. Probably level 7. I'm 42, 5'9" 165-170 pounds. Good athlete in general. I'll be skiing primarily on new Fisher RX8s this year moving up from Head ic160s. I'm interested in any feedback on whether the Head Raptor Supershape will be too much boot for me. It's the low end of the Raptor line with a flex of 110/100, but still listed as a race boot. I tried it on in a ski shop this week and was really surprised about how good the boot felt. It was tight, but but not painful.

skinnydog, did you shell fit it? How closely did the boot match your foot shape? What inclined you to try it?

I tried it along with a lot of other boots just because the new models were in. Shell fit was good. One finger behind the heel.

I'll let the true experts give their thoughts on it, but the real key is whether or not it fits you, not just your feet.

The boot you've selected sounds perfect from a performance standpoint. But fit is key so let someone qualified help.

If it's an appropriate fit performance wise, and a reasonably good initial fit, I'll probably take it to Feet First in Plymouth NH run by Paul Richelson.
