Best BC Trip Suggestions for March?

Thread Starter
2 years ago my son and skied Red and Whitewater and with a day of cat skiing with Big Red and Valhalla. It dumped every day and was the best trip of our lives expect for not being able to see the view.

Suggestions for a BC week in March this year?
(not a big fan of the whistler crowds)
Our preference is to check out a couple of mountains and maybe a day or two of cat skiing and we're flying from NYC after that flight distance from from a major airport is a consideration.

I'm thinking of flying into Spokane again, doing a day or two at Red and then driving north to Revelstoke for a few days and then back via Whitewater
or
flying into Calgary for a couple hundred bucks more and doing a day at Lake Louise and then heading west to Revelstoke and then back to Calgary (and no Sunshine isn't big on my list).

Giving the vagaries of March - what's your best suggestion of finding the best snow and terrain?

thanks,

It's really tough to beat the red/whitewater vacation.

If you fly into calgary though, be sure to stop at kicking horse on your way to Revelstoke.

Fernie will be about as long a drive from Whitewater/Red as Revy and can have some awesome dumps in March. Big White and Silver Star are also possibilities. There are a lot of hills within driving distance so you might want to wait to see where the snow is and make last minute plans for where to explore.

calgary to Castle (local, non-groomed, fallline) Fernie, kimberly, panorama (long cruise), and back thru LL and apparently not sunshine.

heli or cat skiing in Fernie and panorama.

Kicking horse and Reve might be a nice option too. but reve will have growning pains as it is the first year
