I ski 100 days a year at Vail/BC, 20 odd years of skiing experience, level 8/9 skier. I own a 184 stormrider xl 04/05 (red flames), and a 186 dynastar legend pro. I ski on the LP everyday and find it easier for an all mountain ski. (Just pointing this out for perspective). The point is, the stormrider kills it on groomers, crud, and I haven't found the speed limit and I am known for charging hard. It is great in hard bumps, you just have to stay honest. It is a submarine in deep snow, because of this I have never ventured into trees with them. I don't think I would trust them in that environment. SO.....for east coast they are probably unbeatable. I just feel that stockli needs to widen and soften their products for more reasonable versatility, even for the best of skiers. I have skied on many stiff skis, and the stocklis in general tend to be more great at one thing (hauling mach stupid), not versatile for everything else. I love my XL's for the craftmanship, and they way they rail. I just believe there are better products out there for versatility.
