I'd say she picked it up pretty quickly.

It's especially great when you're with someone who's very close to you and you get to experience a day like that.

This is a great photo:

That's the friend, Jennie S. who's a charger. Between the orange parka and the great form, I have really good pictures of her. Ruth (Mrs. Crab) is very precise on groomers- after a chilhood of gymnastics- but tentitive in powder. Rule one, that I learned the hard way, is never teach your wife a new sport or aspect thereoff- leave it to a girlfriend who's proficient.
Here's two shots- the ladies at the top and at the bottom. They both tried tele a few years ago and never picked up alpine skis again. It's too bad the pics are low res- those are giant smiles...

I assume RR is talking about injuries. Those of us who have never had a serious injury would prefer to continue living in a fools paridise, thank you very much!

My best ever - my choice changes, but as of today, it's Jan 2002, 3 feet of fresh at Wolf Creek Pass skiing with a coworker half my age, taking a long weekend on the spur of the moment from working in NM.
There are a couple of close runner-ups, that might be number one on a different day.

Like life in general, I guess it depends on how you look at things.
But, out of the 1500+ days I've skied in my live, I've never had a bad day skiing.

my favorite people to ski with are the people who ski in the rain, the people who ski no matter what.

maybe because I am one of those people. I still skied on the rainy days at snowbird, utah really hasnt change that about me.

When I say i ski everyday, I mean everyday from november to may with out missing a single one.

Can't pick just one.

Senior year in high school (1978), dad gives me a trip to Alta for an early graduation present first week in April. We skied in the trees for 3 days because it snowed non-stop. Day 4 was a Wednesday and was bluebird. We skied thigh to waist deep powder all day. I took a picture of him that rivaled any Alta poster I've ever seen. We had it blown up to poster size and it's still hanging on his bedroom wall.

3 years later, while attending UVM, we got a 24" dump of snow that rivaled Utah powder. It came on a January Wednesday night. Amazingly, almost nobody went to Stowe. My buddy Scott & I got first tracks down Goat and we were #3 & #4 down Starr. Thos trails that were so brutal on the bulletproof days gave it up easy that day. We found fresh all day.

March, 2002 while on a 30-day hiatus from Trashcan-istan, the wife and I hit Snowbird on the Wednesday and Thursday that it snowed 60" (slide hit the Alta Lodge and took out 3-4 rooms). No pics because it was snowing too hard.

This past April at Gore. My son wants to ski the double diamond Rumor. It was pretty nice (understatement...it was fantastic), but I was worried that he wasn't ready for the 6" of powder over some hardpack. I told him, "Maybe later." He gives me the 15-year old sneer...."what, are you scared or something?" We ripped it up. About time he started pushing me instead of me pulling him.

I skied with YetiMan exactly a week before that, on the 19th. I believe they reported 16" at the 6am snow report. When the lifts opened it was still snowing. Hard. Our tracks were filling in behind us until probably noon. Road to Provo opened at about 1.

That was a pretty good day.

You already stood me up once earlier in the year when I was at Jackson.

Seriously, though I was on a semi-work trip and didn't know what I was doing until the last minute.

My skis were skinnier than yours.... Explosives. Man, I was freakin' dying trying to keep up. That pair of snowboards he has just float.
