It is time for me to leave...

I was taking a nap this afternoon...and then woke up, only to look out my window and SEE IT SNOWING! I was so excited! I could hardly believe it! Snowing in Alabama in August?!?!? Craziness! I ran over and grabbed my roommate from Colorado to show him! We were flabbergasted! I considered grabbing my skis.

Then I woke up again, for real, and remembered the heat index was supposed to be 108. I looked outside my window....no snow.

This is the SECOND time I have had the exact same dream. Two weeks ago I dreamed I was skiing and did a 360 to show off for a snow bunny. I'm pathetic. I need snow.

You're normal (for this group, that is).

You're only pathetic if you didn't stick the 360, and land the snow bunny!

I definitely stuck the 360, can't say whether or not I landed the snow bunny. I woke up after I landed of course...

There's only 1 cure for that kind of addiction. Buy another pair of skis.

Last weekend I put on all my gear and sat in my Unlce-in-law's walk-in freezer for over an hour. Seriously.

This kind of logic was from back in the long ski days. With the new gear you really need a 720 to snag a decent snow bunny. (switch 720 if she is REALLY hot)

Funny you should say that...

Found a brand new pair of last season's Rossignol Bandit B2's(174's) in Any Mountain Sports on sale while I was home in California last week. I bought them the following day. My sister's friend does graphic design, so they are currently at home awaiting a custom sticker art job...

Now here's to praying I will even GET to ski this season...

Jared. How far did you have to to go to find some snow last winter ? The last post I remember was you looking for some snow that was nearest to Alabama.

Me and my roommate had talked about trying to hit up gatlinburg, but decided that the 9 hour trip or so probably wasn't worth it. I went home to California and skied a day at Tahoe over Thanksgiving on the white ribbon of death. Our first trip back to Colorado over Christmas got snowed out, which really depressed us as we had a solid 4-5 days planned. I ended up getting 2 more days in at Colorado when I took some leave in early March, and that was it.

In the end, I went by plane...which is probably how most of my skiing will be done over the next few years. If I'm really lucky I'll be living in Germany soon, but we'll see...there is always Texas.
