The site has indeed changed over the years. I joined right after the transition from Beavers to Bears and Epic was then quite amateur. Before I get jumped on, remember the root of that word is from the Latin "to love" and there is no offense intended. There were few "big guns" or noted authors back then, a smattering on instructors and dedicated individuals who imparted their wisdom.
I now feel that I don't need to contribute to the instructional forum since that is being handled by those with greater talents than I. When it comes to boots and fitting ... again ... many new folks have better answers. Some people leave because they ain't going to be the "resident pro" and dominate or take over.
Others come to "push product" and some a political agenda.
Others come on to get advice on a resort or have dreams of the perfect ski family and need the scoop on what to do and where to go or what resort is good for kids.
The get what they need .... and then they are gone.
Me? Other than a few wise cracks, I'm happy to take a back seat to the real pros. There is lots of good information to be had.
Lars, and Pierre eh, Oboe .... wow ... how many are still around .... I still remember the help and wisdom ... and AC and and and ..
