No, pro-form deals may be posted here.

Notice any difference? A comma perhaps?

I spend most of my time on 177 Volkl Karma's with Look P14 ... sad day that both are discontinued. Also a 175 Dynastar Phil Belanger Pro with P12s, and and a 183 Volkl Gotama that I'm putting the new Marker Duke on ... don't like Marker, but the Duke looks pretty bomber, plus I don't trust the Freerides enough, had problems coming out of them.

planning to pick up a 178 Dynastar Legend 8000 for this season for a more traditional ski, probably put a PX12 or 14 on them.

and I wear a Dalbello Krypton Pro with a zip-fit custom liner and footbed from Feet Lab (Winter Park)

cheers

Climbingjunkie- I assume by the WP bootfitter reference you are in the Denver area. If you are interested in some 8000's cheap, take a look over at CO Ski and Golf- they have a bunch of demo pairs there (with PX12's) for $349. Most are in great condition.

skiboards? where do you patrol that they let you use skiboards?

I'm usually on a board when I patrol. Mostly my Donek Axis 177 with Bomber TD2 stepins. Sometimes when its not crowded I'll bring out the Volkl Renntiger 183, also with TD2s. If we get powder, either the Axis or a Dynastar LZ wide 170. Early season rockboard is a K2 Fatbob 162. Occasionally I'll ski Rossi Bandit 191s with Marker 1200's. When I really want to feel my thighs burn, Rossi Hellgate 186s with Voile's. I'd like to get a pair of K2 Public Enemys this season to play on. A lot of our patrol is on tele's and they make good sense for moving around the hill. I just have to much fun on the alpine boards to give them up. Stepin bindings do help though I can be in and out in a second so its not a huge hassle like freestyle bindings.

BTW, I can imagine trying to run a sled with skiboards.

Well, I am on a volunteer patrol. Don't know if that changes things or not. Usually, when I go mess around on skiboards, I don't have my patrol jacket on. I still have a radio and pack on. I couldn't imagine trying to handle a toboggan on skiboards, though I heard of a local patroller who passed their toboggan thing on skiboards.

Flatlander, sort of...

We patrol on BC touring skis. Personally, I use either Karhu 10th Mtn. Tours with Karhu Sirius 75mm (3-pin) boots on "Rat Trap" bindings or Trak Bushwacker IIs with Steger or Empire mukluks and Berwyn Backcountry Bindings. I bought a pair of Karhu Karver Metas (Universal rigid binding) last season, but never got enough snow to try them out.

We sometimes stay out on the trail overnight(s). Does anyone else do that routinely?

More info on our patrol activities can be found at www.trailpatrol.org

Ski safe,
Hans

I don't. These guys do.

it wouldn't matter for our patrol Ham, volunteers and pros have to pass the same ski test. Alpine or Tele, no snowboards, no skiboards. But thats us, not everyone, so if you can make it work, go for it
