LGC IV an anniversary celebration! - Page 2

If I can get Uncle Louie down from the rafters and roof of the house--he's been hanging out there a lot lately--I think we'll be there too!
I'm planning to attend (some part) of my first whole numbered LGC, after making it to 2.5 last year. Thanks Jim for the schedule update! Now I can start making plans at work.
Thanks for posting the schedule Jim.

I'll do my best to make the first day...not sure on that one.

I'll be there all the other days....(well maybe, except one)

Thanks for the offer Glen and I'll PM you about the logistics/marketing help

As for dinner, I'm sure we could get 40 or 50 of your closest friends up to the "Lodge"

And Dookey it will be fantastic to hang out with you again although we may very well see each other in OOTAH first
post #37 of 594
Dookey, this time you and I are going to actually ski together a bit, instead of just meeting at lunch...

This is going to be fun! I may even get the family up for one of the days...
^^ word 'em up JGiddy!

^sounds good SSH.

last year i almost ducked off when you, Vince, and Brklyn took off after lunch, but since I was a LGC noob i thought you guys were doing some O.G. bonding and didn't want to cut in (Brklyn later told me I was crazy and I shoulda just ducked off with y'all). no complaints, though. i had a blast with everybody I rode with, even SCSA! (i'll be rocking his Stihl stylee this season, too). looking forward to spending more than 3 days with the crew this time around and if everything aligns that will be the case.
Just wanted to remind you guys to make an entry in the Activity Calendar. The Calendar is a quick reference for events and can continue to be edited to provide meeting times and places as details change. Its much faster in the end than searching through threads. The only caveat is that the person who makes the calendar entry has to keep it updated.

We always get out to Colorado in April and will definitely try to meet up on some of the posted days. Looking forward to getting to know some new snow lovers.

A very mixed bag of dedicated skier's and fun loving vacationers bound to show up every day: There's room for everyone and I'm going to begin negotiations on a "DOOKEY" fashion show Good times for all!!!

Hey all I'm just bumping this up there and letting everyone know there's a pretty good ticket deal going on Expedia.

Go to Expedia.com and click on activities.
Select other as your destination and type in Vail, Co.
Select a date range of 30 Mar - 12 Apr or any in between and click continue.
A list of Vail lift tickets will be presented and while the 3 and 4 day tickets aren't that great a deal, the 5,6 and 7 day tickets are pretty good.

The 7 day averages out to just under 43$ a day.

Tickets purchased this way are good at Vail, Beaver Creek and Arapahoe Basin. We will be skiing all of these areas(some more than once) in addition to Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper and Loveland during the 2 weeks.

The page doesn't confirm they're good at Breckenridge or Keystone, but I would bet they are as they're all Vail resorts.

Hope this helps someone out and here's a couple of pictures from last years get together:

Ok, looks like I can finally make one of these, if I don't get stuck making a last-minute trip to NC. As Lisamarie mentioned on the first page, we're leaving on 4/7 (Thailand!) but should be able to get out and ski at this LGC. I will encourage my supe at Breck to let me sign out for the season earlier to free up one of those weekend days. I will also try to skip out of at least a day from my "real" job. A-Basin on our anniversary and BC couple of days before flying to Asia sound wicked cool!

However, we won't be able to offer up Lisa's studio for a potluck the way she mentioned back in July. She made a change in direction and is now renting time from local dance studios for her classes, and thus gave up the lease on the dedicated facility. You don't even want to think about what our condo looks like now that we put some of her gear in here! :

Sounds very cool Mark:

I had the pleasure of living in Far East Asia many years ago and Thailand is spectacular in many ways

Will be great to ski with you and make sure Lisamarie comes out as well.

Sounds fantastic Glen and can't thank you enough for your generosity in helping pull these things together

As folks looking in to attending can see in Mr. Verticals quote above, there's usually discount tickets to be had thanks to the generosity of locals who have passes etc... No guarantees, but we can usually come up with something

Another pic at the top of Abasin from LGCII

I have been to the last three years, so I can't miss this one! As we get closer can everyone post the days they will be in attendance -- I will come over a weekend so I want to pick the one when I am sure to see the most folks!

Hope all is well -- skiing is actually good in the east this yeah.

Excellent Kiersten!

4-6 Apr is the only FULL weekend scheduled, so that's probably your best bet, but let's see what others chime in with.

I'm there for sure 30 Mar - 6 Apr and am 95% in for the whole thing.

Uncle Louie and Sugarcube will be there for the whole thing barring something unforseen.

Looking forward to seeing you again.

Jim

Lets Go Colorado

I will be making my maiden voyage to this gala event.

I will be flying in on Saturday 03/29 (from Hartford) and skiing with fellow Bears on Sunday- Wednesday.

I am hoping to be joined by some " Blue Cruser Bears"

PS: The ticket out of Hartford was around $240 via NWA.

I thought that was a reasonble price

Looking forward to meeting some new ski friends

We are a bit questionable for the first few days (Sat and Sun).....Lodging issues. We'll post when we know more.

Has

Anyone talked to the Noodler?

Wish I could make it

My son and I had a great time last year at Breck and Beavercreek. Best skiing we had all year.

Unfortunately, I messed up my neck, popped some disks out, and had to have surgery. To be specific, I had an anterior cervical fusion of c5-c6 and c6-c7 on December 10th. I won't be skiing for a while. I should be healed enough to play golf in April though. I'll know more on 1/11 when they take xrays to see if all is going to plan.

I'll look for the pics and the stories.

Have fun, ski well.

Simple.....We worked out a sweet deal on a condo for parts of the season. We have to turn it back over for the month of March which is Spring Break.

We don't get it back till the last day of March. (Making us Summit County homeless people)
Hmmm... Want to commute up? I'm sure we can find you a place to stay in Boulder...

UL,
We got a place for you & Sugar, The plumbing is still a little rough, as the pic shows, (sink was mounted a little low) Water valve in under about 6'of snow plow snow, It could be April before we can get it uncovered! Drywall is hung & were hoping for floor coverings in late Feb!
Happy New Year!

Right back atchya, Mr. V! I gotta tell you, your digs are absolutely 5 star compared to ours! Every time we trot out to use the 'facilities,' we're about 2 inches taller from all the mud on our boots! But UL does keep changing the soap in the little sink inside the porta-potty!

You'll love this group oldefarms and we'll have plenty of "blue cruisers" as well as higher and lower levels on any given day.

Will be a pleasure to meet you.

The light is right over there near the end of the tunnel and it will be spectacular when it's done

I don't think a couple nights accommodations will be hard for you two to find
