A worthy goal. How many "turns" does one have to get for it to really count?
Hey, this is America. You can do anything you want.
I have a totally arbitrary personal rule that I have to make twenty-five turns for it to "count".
They don't have to be continuous, though. There have been several times over these last few years where the snow patch I was skiing was too small to make 25 consecutive turns, so I would ski as many turns as I could, hike back up, ski as many more, repeat as necessary until the 25 minimum was exceeded.
One nice side benefit to repeated trips over a small snow patch is that by the third or fourth time down you've usually smoothed out the sun cups and runnels and scraped off the embedded rockfall and exposed the whiter, prettier snow underneath. It actually almost feels like real skiing at that point.
