Ok, 2/1 to 2/4 Utah, I'll put that on the list with a double diamond designation. I usually like Western trips much later in the season cause I'm poor and really, would you be happy skiing 700 vertical of ice and sno-cones after big mountains a real snow? Let's go CO is looking real attractive and its been over a decade since last I skied the Summit. That's on my list too.

Bushwhacker, I'm glad you kept the PA in your handle after your transplant to the Wasatch. You know we'll be skiing soon 'cause this Monday summer is officially over in the 'burgh. Steelers open camp at St. Vincent in Lay-trobe. We will follow tradition and bury the Pirates but remain true to the black and gold.

Did you know that tromano is headed to Logan. Have you ever skied with him? Tim's got game. I knew when I skied with him at 7S last year that, like you, our short hills would not contain him. It'll be nice to see him at the gathering too.

Unless another family emergency comes up (like the last time there was a Utah Gathering) I'm planning on attending. I'll be bringing along a few pair of loaner powder skis for the wankers and poser that don't have any. In fact, I'll give my 175cm V2 Chubbs to the attendee with the best (or most pathetic) story on why they need them.

No reason for only one...

I think an LGC 3.5 after the Aspen ESA would be interesting, but think that the LGCs can stand as Colorado-based "Gatherings". Others would be great, too, and it really only takes someone to champion them.

If you get settled on a location, we're happy to stick a thread for you...

We'll pull together a Seven Springs PA/DC/MD/OH/WV Gathering again this season. Dates TBA

Uh.....yoo hoo!!! Don't forget us Kentucky folk....we are only about 5 1/2 hrs away

When you await the naturals you must make haste or arrive any time and ski machine made. We usually try for late January but we've been know to come a-runnin' when it's a-dumpin'. Stay tunned for breaking news. If you're here a long weekend after a dump, I'll be advocating Blue Knob for some off piste rock and stump skiing.

LGC4 is looking good, late season blue collar tour, discounts and maybe some pow too, boy I'd like to do the 2 week tour.:

I really havent quit skiing yet, just once every couple weeks hopefully in august I get a trip to Hood in. For how much I love skiing there are tons more fun stuff to do in the summer.

I ski the East Coast, is that pathetic enough?

So far, yes.....but you have to attend the gathering to get them.

175cm? That ain't a powder ski!

I thought they needed to be at least 185, preferably 195+...

yeah, otherwise how can you schralp the gnar?
Hmmm......Ootaw. It all sounds well and fine, but it really goes against my grain to miss ski days on traveling to ski elsewhere.

I haven't made it to an epic gathering yet, in spite of much musing about it, and planning on it (though I have skied with several bears at other times), so I'll just say I'm generally interested in it, but not planning on it.

Please keep telling everyone that. I enjoy having the powder in the trees all to myself.

Hey, like to meet up with you all.
Hey Johnny, keep a watch here when the season gets under way. We'll start planning then.

It looks like the Utah Gathering will be the likely event. My ski buddy, Marcus aka Treebarker, will be along too and he says that he'll soon have internet and will be back here too.

Well, you see, it's the unforseen stuff that always gets me. Right now I'm unforseeing money enough to fund such an expedition, and when you combine that with the thought that I'd have to spend a couple days driving when I could be skiing ( ::: ), well it just causes the anxiety to rise.

If I was to say I'm planning on it, it wouldn't happen, so maybe by saying I'm not planning on it, the stars will be drawn into alignment, and I'll make it.

While it is great to be called by the name of such an illustrious personage, I must say I'm confused as to what a "gatehring" is. :

Dang! The wealth of knowledge available on epicski is overwhelming!
i thought a "gatehring" was the ring of men that forms around a rabid alligator in an attempt to catch it.

I'll have to trade my hammer for some skis, and ditch the helmet, I only use it for fighting the dark lord.
