Voom HD ski porn overload

Wow, just wow...cablevision in NY/NJ (who is normally a POS) brought on the Voom HD networks this last week and I can't seem to go a day when there isn't quality ski porn on worldsport HD or Rush HD. Simply incredible, alpine chronicles, although a season old still keeps me at bay in this summer heat!!! Racing/big mountain/park monkeys....everyone is made happy!

I'm not a TV tech freak ... all I've got is a big screen thingie. Do you need high def? What kind of cost is the upgrade? Our Patriot network here in west central NJ probably doesn't have it.

According to Yahoo TV listing I've got Rush on 734, can't wait to get home and see if I've got it.

To get HD channels, you need the HD digital cable box...

Patriot Media doesn't list any of those channels anyway.

Yeah, they just started here in CT too. Some are pretty lame, and almost remind you of NBC with their tear-jerkers and long, drawn out dramatic nonsense (check out the skateboard dude), but showing ski videos in high def can't be a bad thing.

The best of the bunch (by about a mile) is Matchstick Production's "Push". Buy it - it's worth it, even for just the music.

Oh, and today is the mountain climbing at "the land time forgot on Rush Voom. Living vicariously isn't the worst thing to do.

I am trying to find their website, what is the name of the network? I am going to ask Patriot to add it to their HD channels. You never know.

"Voom- Rush HD" is what the channel's called. If you want to see what's on, go to cablevision IO, and it's channel 730.

I am on Patriot media in NJ, I do not carry it. From the Voom site, it looks like only DISH network and Otpimum international networks carry the channel. I am going to e-mail Patriot.

Yup, I've got Optimum from Cablevision, just watched a special about Sugarloaf, Maine in HD on World Sports, a compilation of all sorts of sports not normally on US television (Soccer, CFL, etc) and programmed the DVR to tape the 2004 Freeskiing Championships from Kirkwood tonight on Rush, a compilation of adrenaline sports (Paragliding, mountain climbing, Motocross, Kayaking, etc) Seems to have a few gems here and there depending on your interests. Also noticed they added a 24 hour Fashion Channel and 24 hour Golf, all in HD.

I'm guessing this channel won't pick on the rabbit ears...

Have had it since last winter on the HD Dish package..it is pretty good..but repeats itself and frustratingly enough last winter, Rush was showing almost all Mountain Biking and other non snow sports during the heart of ski season.

Check out the Snow PIG series..like the basketball name sake except skiers are challenged to do tricks in the park. Very funny watching modern park skiers flail at old school daffies/spread eagles while being able to nail 1080's etc..

good mountaineering segs as well

NO WAY!!! but ask again in a year. If they go the way of OLN and other sports channels I can't remember the name of, I may make that deal. I was excited when I got OLN and they carried tons of ski porn, then they put all the ski stuff on weekends. I guess the programming geniuses don't realize that skiers are outdoor people and on weekends they are, umm, SKIING. soon after, they stopped showing skiing totally. I hope Voom is smarter.
