Indian restaurant in Summit County

FYI, there's a new (first) Indian restaurant in Frisco, Himalayan Cafe. Located on Main Street (on the north side, between 5th and 6th I believe).

Top-notch food. One of the best Indian meals (in a restaurant) I've had in the US. The sheekh kabab is awesome! If you're in the area and like spicy food, don't miss it.

I will try it. Have you been to Ali Baba in Golden? I try to make it there about once a month or so.

Never been to Ali Baba -- didn't even know about it -- where exactly in Golden is it? Maybe I'll try it when I go down for my doctor/PT appointment at Panorama later this month.

The only Indian restaurants in Denver I've tried are Namaste (Lakewood), a few out in Aurora, and one in/around Westminster (right off 36, can't remember the name).

Thanks, I'll mosdef check that out next year.

Have you tried the new Thai place in Fraser? It might not look to promising as it's in the old Tastee Freeze building (or whatever that was across from Crooked Creek) but it's really quite good. If you like it really hot though, it's difficult to convince them the first time around.

Take US 6 west, and when it turns to go through the canyon, stay on 93 north. about 1/4 to 1/2 mile north you will see a couple of gas stations on the right and a smalll strip mall behind it. Ali Baba Grill is in the strip mall. It is pretty hard to miss.

You guys can't be serious. When I lived in Col'rado the only Indian resaurant would be one serving Navajo tacos and fry bread.

I have never found the US a great place for a ruby.

There is no interesting ethnic stuff.

Nor are there the macho, post-pub, fiercest vindaloo available and pint of lager joints for drunk people. In the UK those restaurants are run by Sylhettis/Bangladeshis.

Don't know who runs these places in US. Are they Kenyan Asians like the motel crowd ?

FY!: On the 12th, they are doing a $25 dinner and Nepalese dance show. Benefits go to support building a school in their hometown in Nepal.

Good info about Indian food in Frisco. Good ethnic food is something we miss when we are out there. We'll try it when we are there in August, and perhaps will have a new favorite for winter dining.
