I bought a pair of the 179's. Hoping they will be good for bumps and trees and a bit of play in between.
I was thinking of the Districts at 187. They are softer than the MR's -- do you think they would do as well in bumps as the 179 -- or would the longer TR @27 vs 17 and wider ski 103 vs 93 not make that possible?
Districts are Med-Med soft flex, MR's are Med-Med hard flex according to site. Also they had ski reviews by group in Chile. see their News/Blog -Industry news category and Press Release for 5ones.com. Softer than Goats, Seths, Rossi B4's and Mantras. Utah powder design
A bendable tip and the shorter radius would make for better maneuverability. I skied my Squads in trees last year and it was a bit more excitement than I needed . Same for bumps. however they really surprised me in slushy bumps they we very useful and very fun.
The maneuverability with the shorter turn radius is what made me choose the 179
