Restaurant recommendations near Stowe, VT?

My husband and I will be at Smuggler's Notch, VT with our kids in late July and would like to find a restaurant for just the two of us to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Any recommendations in Stowe or nearby towns? We love Asian food if there is a good restaurant in the area. Thanks in advance.

'A Single Pebble' in Burlington is an exceptional Asian resteraunt.

In Stowe check out Red Basil for Thia and sushi, Blue Moon for a romantic dinner, Pickwick's for excellent food, Steve and Erika's for a great meal also.

Thanks so much!

I second the recommendation for The Single Pebble - fabulous asian food and Burlington's just a short hop skip away.

We were planning to go to Burlington one day anyway, and I checked out the menu on line after Whiteroom recommended it, and it looks fabulous, so it's a definite!

Miguel's Stowaway is good Mexican.

Miguel's closed for business this spring.

My personal fave is the Old Vienna Tearoom. It's a once a year treat for us.

For desert...Ben & Jerry's. Hit the cooler for the "factory seconds" it is the sludge from the bottom of the vats. Oh so good.

Seems Like I've seen this comment once before. Who was it that said that?:

Interesting. We've long been big fans of Miguels but the last two times we've eaten there I've not been as impressed. Thought the quality of both the food and service were not what they had been in the past. Is this a permanent closing?

Another great reason to come ski MRG/Sugarbush is the local grocery store, Mehurons has a cooler of seconds.

Tho, the thought of "sludge from the bottom of the vats" sounds yummy, they are seconds due to weight, same great ice cream you get in the retail pints.

Here are some of our favorites (you said you like asian so I'll list them first):
- Sakura on Church Street, Burlington - great food, unlike most imitated Japanese places found everywhere nowadays
- Tiny Thai in Essex Outlet Mall - good authentic food, reasonable price
- Mr. Pickwicks in Stowe, very expensive but great unusual food from Europe. My favorite drink there is the snakebite (half Guiness half hard cider)
- NECI's (New England Culinary Institute) operated out of Essex Inn. Fine food with moderate pricing. I recommend both their lunch (with all you can eat desert) and Sunday brunch buffet.
- The Whip - sort of continental/American
- Pie in the Sky in Stowe - good brick oven pizza
- Smuggs' own Hearth and Candle - great venison stew; everything else I can't remember

I second "Pie in the Sky" above but for a romantic dinner...well no. I know you mentioned Asian but...

We actually had surprisingly good fondue at the Restaurant Swisspot: http://www.restaurantswisspot.com/

Also try the restaurant at the Green Mountain Inn (Whip Bar & Grill) was nice: http://www.greenmountaininn.com/thewhip.html
