I like.

What's with the "waste back from center measurement"? Visually it looks like all skis have this, but i've never seen specs, how does this affect the way the ski performs?

Waste back from center measurement is just where the binding is placed compared to the center of the ski..

well.. All skis but park skis - on park skis the bindings are in the middle for better balance on rails etc so waste back from center measurement = 0

Why some ski's would have "more" "waste back from center measurement" than others I do not know, but I remember that there are threads about this subject - women skis e.g. have their bindings nearer to the center of the ski than unisex skis..

Is it as simple as the mounting point for a binding though? It seems to me that the center of the sidecut radius is shifted towards the tail, and thus the binding mount point is further back as well.

Isn't it like that on all skis?

I think it is as simple as that krp8128 it is just a measurement of how far from the middle of the ski the waist of the ski is (the smallest width)..

Has anybody tried these skis?

The skis were discussed briefly at the forum at ski.com.au recently. Try contacting the owners through the web site, they reply pretty promptly.

No, but I hope to. Our ski season is about to kick off. In about 4 weeks time I will be taking a 5 hour drive (Sydney to Albury) to pick up my new Stockli Stormrider XXLs (186 mounted with Fritshi Freerides). Mt Beauty is only an hour from Albury and on the way to Falls Creek, so I'm definately dropping in to see these guys. If they have any skis mounted for demo I will take them for a slide and report back.
