Skis for B mogul competitor

I've asked this question in many forums and nobody seems to have an answer...

My son is:

10 years old
4'6"
70lbs

He'll be going full time into B mogul competition for the 2007/08 season.

He did some B competitions on Line twin tips (I think the length is about 135)

I need to get him some real mogul skis, but 150's will be too long for him.

I thought I saw the orange topskin Rossi moguls in a jr. length at BMMC, but I can't seem to find them online, or anywhere less than 150

Any suggestions for a bump ski for a kid who's too small for a 150-ish length ski?

Thanks in advance.

How did he perform on the Lines, and which model Line?

I would call these guys: http://www.ski-depot.com/miva/merchant.mvc

They support youth racing and their prices on year old gear can be very good.

Best regards,

Michael

Don't call moguls racing. The kids will beat you up.

Sorry I haven't gotten back sooner, thanks for the response.

He did very well on the Lines, I think the model is Celebrity.

Here are 3 Youtube videos of his performance this past season:

He's good and ten years old! I'd get the coach's input and buy the best that I could. Being where he is now, the next few years he's really going to improve.

Thanks for the vids and good luck next season.

Thanks. He's going to Ramp/Tramp camp up at Lake Placid next week. He's really looking forward to that.

Just hope I can find something for him for this season in a 135 or so.

Does his coach have a preference and/or connection? Sometimes going through the coach and catering to their ego/affiliations can be beneficial and career building.

We'll be seeing the coach when we drop him off at ramp camp next weekend. I'll talk to her and see what she says. Thanks for the suggestion.

I really enjoyed watching your son ski bumps. I wish you all the best and the great ski times that lie ahead. Its has to be an awesome feeling watching your son progress , compete , and enjoy skiing. I think all the time, effort, and of course money involved in doing this will result in lasting memories . I owe my parents so much that made it possible that I got to ski alot every winter. Forty some years later and I'm still enjoying it and thankful that I was fortunate enough to have parents that supported it.

Spoke to the coach over the weekend. He says there really aren't any mogul skis under 150. So the kids that require something shorter are basically just using twintips. Just make sure the tails aren't very wide.

He'll continue to use his Line Invaders until he gets bigger.

Thanks.
