Um, as far as East Coast resorts go, Killington is about as much of a tourist destination as you can get already, and a few wannabe Intrawest log-trim shops and condos at Rams Head ain't gonna change that one way or another. Yes, Killington is a tourist destination, but it's big enough for everyone. Us weekenders (and sometimes +friday and monday-ers
) love Killington for the moguls, terrain parks, halfpipe, competitions, nightlife, food, bars, football, ski house culture, The Pickle Barrel, The Long Trail Brewery and of course Aspen East Ski shop. I'm definitely willing to spend a bit more on my season pass to keep that going every season. And as long as the amortized cost of lift tickets over the course of the season is close (with 10 bucks a day), its definitely better to have the pass for the convenience of not getting a lift ticket every morning.
I definitely understand that things become different when you have a family as I will god-willing in a few years. However, compared to putting up and feeding the litter for 3-4 days at a time in Killington, the pass prices can't be that much of an expense!
