I do not fee that you should have to be certified to ski fast. I wouldn't mind if the patrol stopped me as wanted to take a run with me to make sure I could stay in control, however, to pay a few bills to prove I can handle my speed would tick me off.

The skier's code is just common sense. All you have to do is pay attention to what you are doing, and there should not be any problems. Of course, people cannot be expected to use common sense here in America, so what can you do?
