But seriously, I have just 'retired' after 16 years in the Army, finished my first season as a ski instructor and heading to NZ to back up with my second. we will be back next year and compared to my previous 100 hour per week work schedule - I feel like a ski bum. I have a university education and lots of other qualifications besides and other than the life skills that 16 years of leadership have taught me I do not intend to use any of that education in my day to day life.
Even on instructor's wages I can still go to the theatre, catch a game, head into the big smoke for that big night out.
The difference is that with a bit of planning and preparation I trained and qualified myself into a job that lets me ski as many days per seasonas I want but I do not have to work 2-3 evening jobs (respect to those that choose this path though).
