At the National Academy the Demo team introduced the Matrix. I decided to open a thread to serve as a focal point for questions. There are no links I can find to the matrix yet, but in general what the team members have done is to create a large matrix with rows containing things like stance, hand activity, pole plants, edge control movements and many other things that wew do in skiing, and columns reflecting the type of skiing, for example, ice, crud, powder, etc.. A good stance in powder might be relatively narrow providing a platform, while a good stance on ice might be wide. The matrix is intended to provide a home for "good" skiing techniques, not for particular teaching cues or methods. I hope someone from the team posts more details or a link for members.
