Well despite one bummer(my camera broke from a hard Cirque traverse fall by me). today was another great day skiing at snowbird. Walk on boats all day long noone their and dry snow in the morning.

Upon arriving we were greated by this.

the first runs down the backside of the cirque were amazing, snow blowing over your head not hitting anything underneath and noone else to ski against.

by the time I decide to snap some ski shots it was a much different pictures at least the snow was still good.

Me skiing the trees above the Marty Hoey Baricade

Axel trying to make his way through the fog.

Last run entry to the Cirque traverse I took a hard hit and landed on my cameras the LCD screen is ****ed but i still managed to snap this one of Axel in Mach Schnell

hope you enjoyed and if you know where to get a LCD screen for a Canon Powershot A630 or if canon will warranty you can post that up too.

Sweet Tr. sorry to hear about your camera.

Those are some great pictures, makes me feel like I'm there. A welcome thing considering no snow here and 80f outside. Thanks

Canon will do a LCD repair on most of its models (via an authorized Canon dealer) for around $150-160. Turnaround time should be 2 weeks or so.

Was the LCD flipped in when you crashed, or flipped out so you could use it more quickly?

At least the Canon A series cameras have an optical viewfinder that, while not as good as the LCD, works for basic framing of shots.

Friday at Alta was nice too. Rustler area in the trees was not crusted and it was fun.

For what I like this guy is that his reports always have nice pics!

IS that the Nirvana Shoulder deemed to be the steepest run at the Bird?
Doesn`t seem from this perspective...:

Nice pics!

If you want to save $100 and are reasonably tech/mechanically savvy, you can call canon and buy an LCD from them for ~$40, and replace screen in a matter of minutes. You don't need many tools; mostly you just need a small (glasses-size) screwdriver... though, if I remember correctly, they'll send you instructions with the part. good luck!

Nirvanna is alot steeper than it appears in these pictures but not the steepest.

South chute is the longest steepest shot at snowbird IMO. Great Scott is the steepest "marked" run IMO. and other that are alot steeper than these.

Thanks for the TR BushW.

Looks like you got your Gotamas back in service. Or did you pick up a pair of Mantras? The Cirque claims another victim!

BWPa...Excellent, just excellent!

There are no two places on this planet like Altabird for powder. Your snow is just arriving here with a couple of feet planned falling at the tunnel and basin. Unfortunate break for your camera. However, I’ll keep packing my old unit on the outside pocket this week hoping for a crash and a final excuse for a replacement.

south chute is located far skier left of wilbere bowl.

I picked up a pair of mantras but this was the first day they sat the day out in couple. The gotamas are finally fixed and was loving them yesterday.

Nice shots. I checked the Snowbird site for the snow report (hopefully) and they had this video;http://www.snowbird.com/video/april19_2007. Kinda brings all to life...
