I only have a moment before I have to grab a taxi, however I thought I'd share the long EOSB Travel Day One with you by photos:

I'm off to Versailles now, then will meet up with some snowHeads for travel to Moutiers and thence to Val Thorens tomorrow. I'll post the individual pics into this thread (and a companion thread) after I get settled into Val Thorens tomorrow night.

Cheers!

You did all of that in one day?! Wow, you must be tired. Great shots though, makes me want to go to Paris.

Paris in April…:

guess i'll have to eat a croissant and some brie at the top of the Summit lift @ Alpine Meadows this weekend and pretend I'm in Paris...

couple of questions:

do they have any snow?

what is EOSB?

safe travels!

Steve, trust you're having a fab time. I got the following from my niece the other day:

1. Go to www.google.com
2. Click on "maps," above the search bar...
3. Click on "get directions"
4. Type "
New York" in the first box (the "from" box)
5. Type "Paris" in the second box (the "to" box)
6. Click on "get directions"
7. Scroll down to step #23

Always good to have a plan B when it comes to international travel!

that's fabulous! I love the "swim across the Atlantic Ocean" direction -- someone has a sense of humor.

In this context, the standard disclaimer in the fine print takes on new importance:

"These directions are for planning purposes only. You may find that construction projects, traffic, or other events may cause road conditions to differ from the map results."

Don't forget the Hyper Champion in Moutiers...right by the Gare de Routier. Easiest and cheapest liquor in the trois valles...you'll get killed with the prices up in VT....especially with the going exchange rate! VT will be a shock (in a really good way) to you, esp. if you haven't gone to L3V before! Oh and don't look down when going up to VT on the coach, those guys drive like madmen!

I finally have Internet here in the hotel. Here are the photos from day two:

http://picasaweb.google.com/steve.hu...EoSBTravelDay2

They are uploading now (and I'm going to dinner!).

The snow has been great spring corn most of the time. The lower areas are closing, but as you'll see once I get the Day 1 photos up, I made it all the way over to Courcheval with a number of the snowHeads that day.

For the past two days, I've spent all day with various snowHeads given them a US view of skiing. More on that in a couple of days (but no pictures of that, I'm afraid--at least none that I took!).

I'll drop in again after I'm done with dinner... Cheers!

I'm not following you, Cirque, but that's nothing new...

It's been great. The skiing is good, and it's been fun meeting a bunch of snowHeads. There may even be a snowHeads event in the US next year as a result of my bit of ambassadorial activity.
