Great!- I'll look forward to hearing from you. The 1st will be a post-call day, so if I'm up all night I will need a late start.

If the snow/weather is good and if someone wanted to ski 2 or 3 days including 28th & 29th, I have been thinking of making the trek to CO for a couple last days of the season?
Don, what do you think? Maybe Mr Vert might to wet the skis one more time before hanging them up?

Hi Gary…:

Check out Spdskr’s TR for Loveland yesterday…http://forums.epicski.com/showthread.php?t=55530

It would be great if you can make it out as conditions look good til EOS. Additionally, the Utah storm is running through this Tuesday…cross your fingers. As for where to ski specifically, best snow conditions will determine my choice between A-Basin or Loveland.

As for Vert I think he is wood deep in mountain home construction. Certainly we should ping him and see if we can pry him away from his hammer.

Cheers.

Great pics - looks like you (Don) are getting into "hucking". If you are going extreme on us, I will go along and take the pictures - no cliffs for this guy.
It would be great if we could get a few or a bunch of people to come out. I'll let you know something for sure tomorrow.

Snow at A-basin was fine yesterday. East Wall was open and had 3 inches on top of crust, but it was fun. Land of The Giants had reasonable snow as well. Then of to Pali and very nice packed powder on International, Davids Run and the Face. With the 6-12 inches coming in soon, conditions will be very fine indeed. I'll probably be back up on this Thursday 4/26 or one day this weekend.

And the chain requirements for the big rigs is back in effect on parts of I-70! Just came in from walking the dog--it's VERY blustery outside and we've probably got another 5" of snow here in Dillon. Hope the temps stay cold so this snow sticks around for all you weekend warriors!

Well, if I was truly considering my safety on the slopes I should avoid any mountain that Bong is visiting…:

Gary, got your PM. Great the Vertical is in. Sounds like a plan.

Segbrown…Tennis??? Much to early for a net.

SugarCube, are you in? (I’m thinking Uncle Louie is considering a drive up about right about now )

Just got a call from a friend on the East coast who is considering flying out Friday pm and back Sunday pm. If he does we may rent a spot at the beach. I'll be up there tomorrow and maybe on the weekend as well. Where is meeting place on Sunday? time? mid mt lodge?

I'm pretty sure UL is up to his eyeballs in installing sinks and other exciting plumbing-related things. I can do half-days as Wonder Dog is still ailing and can't stay in the truck 'til she's feeling spunkier.

A Basin - 9:30
Base area Restaurant - upper level - right side as you face the bldg.

The only thing that would change this is if snow conditions were much better at Loveland.

Great to get more people out.

Gary, checking the day...

A-Basin Sunday at 9:30, base lodge near bar...unless conditions demand back to Loveland...perhaps a note back on this thread Saturday eve. confirming so.

cheers.

Loveland, 4/26/07

Here's a couple of shots from Loveland yesterday. Snow was crunchy until it warmed and softened up. We climbed to the 3rd chute on the ridge after lunch and the snow was great.

Photo's by Bob Booker.
At the top of chair 9.
Climbing the ridge.

Bong, is that you “wheezing” in the center of the second photo…
post #28 of 36
Who is the hot chick in the black?
Don,
Yes that is me "wheezing" along. The hot chick in black and Rusty Guy passed me further up the ridge while I was gasping for air.

I think we skied Wild Child and the snow there was well worth the climb.

I'll never tell who that "Hot Chick" in black is. : She has a great smile though. Maybe we'll get to slide with her again.

A great day skiing at Loveland, today. Warm, good snow, party atmosphere at the base. garyskr, tsavo, betsy, bong, and bong friends Ernie & Terry & Kerry joined up.

Unfortunately, Betsy and I will not be able to join you at A-Basin on Sunday. Have a great ski
