6000 ft. of vertical sounds really cool! But what is the base elevation? It can't be that high since the maps show it close to the Columbia River. Does it snow at that elevation much? Will the bottom 2000 ft. be usable? I'm reticent. Yes, I'm reticent.
The bottom 2000 vertical feet of the ski area operated with good lift-serviced skiing from the late '60s until the mid nineties, when the lower chair fell apart and they decided to build a road climbing 1000 feet to the upper chair; financed by selling the trees removed to build the road.
I lived in Revelstoke back in 1990-92 when the new gondola and quads seemed to be a sure thing. It's taken over 15 years for them to sign off on a deal with a lift provider, and I'll be toasting them when the first bullwheel turns.
