East Wall opens at A-basin

It was great to see the East Wall opened at A-basin on Friday.
That took a great deal of work on the part of the patrol to get it open.
It was the normal mix of tricky wind slab, with pockets of deeper powder, & many large rocks with traps if you get too close.
No hiking above the traverse (with the usual exceptions).

They did throw a lot of bombs; it was pretty cool to watch the slides rip down the chutes in the morning. Breakable crust was the name of the game from what I heard though.

That wasn't the first time the East Wall opened... I was there 3-4 weeks ago and it was open below the traverse.

Looks like it should stay open the rest of the season.
The wind has been brutal this year. Amazing to watch the East Wall just blow clean after each Dec/Jan/Feb snowfall.
Snowing again.

I have been wondering about that. It seems that way to me, but I don't know if it's coincidence or not. Has it really been windier than normal?
