Hi! I am looking for Robert Barnes' book "The Complete Encyclopedia of Skiing" as I am studying for my Level III Certification. I am willing to pay up to $100 for this book. Thanks for checking.

Good luck! I've never been able to find one for sale anywhere. Your best bet would probably be to try and borrow someone's.

try asking bob himself!

P.J.:

Funkybob is trying to say that Bob Barnes hangs out here at Epic an you could prolly find him under his name - Bob Barnes (kind of refreshing that he used he real name don't ya think?). Anyway, if anyone would know about the book it would be the man himself.

Bob, when is the new edition hitting the presses? Bring some to Stowe if they're printed by then. Only 38 days until the EpicSki Academy's Eastern Tune-Up. Plenty of time to sign up.

Yeah, I know quite a few copies would move here in Oz. I watch my copy like a hawk, people dip into it, next thing I know they've gone off to devour it. Shortage of good technical info here...when the next ed. comes out I've got a list of people to notify. Now our $ has really improved against the US$, it'll sell well.

I might consider RENTING my copy, but only for way more than $100, and only secured by a mortgage and the heart of your first born. If you have the $50,000 and want to do business, pm me.

Otherwise, pm Bob Barnes.

$100.00 for the book?

He doesn't have a video and he doesn't have an alignment center and he doesn't know how to huck his meat.

What kinda system is that? He thinks he's so special with that security guard friend of his. Tell him to bring it on baby.....bring it to the big show, I'll show him lines he's never seen before.

I spent a very nice day with a bunch of Bears including Mike M, Ski and Golf, Jim L, and the lightening rod himself.....Bob "Greased Lightening" Barnes.

The e-mails and phones calls from the Beav ought to start in just about five minutes!

Man, I'll tell you what. With all of Bob's knowledge and the $$$ chasing his book around, he's wasting his time out having fun with you guys. He should set back at his computer and develope his own system. He could call it the Primarily Money Taking System, and I'm sure that's not copywrite protected....yet.

Being a newbie around here I didn't know Bob was a member. Yes it would be good if the author could give us an update to if the book will ever be published again. Have been trying to find a copy for sometime now. Perhaps someone who knows Bob could let him know many are looking rather than him having to deal with hundreds of PMs

about every other time I try to PM Bob, his PM box if full.

He hangs out here all the time. He'll eventually respond (probably within a few days)

for 100.00 I'd give up one of my copies. It's a bit dog eared and beat up but....

I suspect you will want to wait for the 4th edition.

Good luck.

WAIT! STOP!

Holy smokes, gang, there's got to be a better way!

On the other hand, I must say that yours has to be the #1 very best first post by a new member that I've ever seen, P.J. Welcome to EpicSki!

In all seriousness, please PM me P.J. (I'll make sure there's room in my box.) I'm sure we can figure something out. At the very least, I have put the entire book into .pdf format, and I can send it to you on disk. You can even print out a copy, if you'd like to. Do not spend $100 for the book, or I'll have to buy a bigger hat!

Best regards,
Bob Barnes

Bob,
If you're sending things out on disk, any chance you could stick a copy of the book onto the cd you'll be burning for me of me skiing at brighton?

HINT HINT!

Hey, Bob, have you considered selling the CD?
I second that request for the book on CD - I could easily print out what I need at the office. I've searched high and low for this book and only found waiting lists of people wanting to buy it. A reasonable price for the book in .pdf format offered to fellow Bears would be popular, I'm sure...

Ditto this for me too! Bob, you're instructional viewpoints are in demand, you should consider taking advantage of these opportunities to get your word out. We all know you would do it the right way. Thanks again for all you do here!

You might find yourself printing out the entire book. When is the 4th edition scheduled to be available?
I'd buy either the book (if a new edition is released) or a CD... there's a reason I said print it out at the office
post #21 of 23
Great idea Fox. Hey Bob, you can put a copy of your book on that CD of me skiing at Brighton too. But seriously, when is the new addition coming out?
Bob - I'm in too, book or cd......

re:selling my copy, I was kidding. I figured Bob would come through.

Bob, Put me in for a copy on disk too!

I'll send you an email.
