Hood Meadows last Tuesday (Pics)

Well, I did end up at Meadows on Tuesday. It was just freqin awesome. Had snowed 2-2.5 feet in the last 2 days. There was still some untracked to be had, but most of it was tracked up, by the afternoon. Still some hidden spots in the trees. Lots of small 10-12 foot airs that just felt so nice in the pow. I saw one guy huck a cliff in Elevator Chutes I guess- it had to be 40 feet, into 2 feet of pow. Here are some pics from the day. I didn't get any video or pics of the good untracked stuff, I was busy skiing it.

A friend from school on tele's.

One of the small cliffs- first run. Good way to warm up.

A view of part of upper elevator maybe? Awesome lines through the rocks and off them. Very soft snow, fairly steep (about 45 degrees at least, fun slouf). The airs were about 10-12 feet into pow again.

What business does a alpiner, telemarker and a snowboarder have in these parts?

Finally, here is a video of me on some part of Meadows during mid-afternoon. Was a kick ass day overall. Pow and sun, and virtually no wind.

Those are some nice pics, but they really didnt capture how it was. I was there on both monday and wednesday. On monday we had fresh tracks all afternoon up on cascade. The run of the day was definatly upper elevator. Wednesday was fairly nice, but it got mushy in the afternoon. I think Tuesday looked like the perfect balance between the two.

Do you ski at meadows often??

I'm from Maine, and this is my Frosh year at school out in Oregon, so this was my first time at Meadows. I've skied Hoodoo and Bathcy before, but not Meadows. Was killer though!

Alas it seems that I cannot watch the movie you've linke at the end of your post.
I use QT 5.0.2 and it says that the file is not in a format
that can be understood
