As some of you have seen on the Let’s Go Colorado III thread, SugarCube and I celebrated a special event on the 6th. We renewed our wedding vows with about 40 Bears, Friends of Bears, and Family of Bears on the top of Vail Mountain. Our own ssh officiated both this and our original wedding ceremony which happened on March 29th, one week earlier. When I originally planned the event to happen on 4/06/07 I hadn’t noticed it was Good Friday. We rescheduled due to the nature of the holiday and had a private ceremony at Steve Hultquist’s home.

A brief history. Nancy and I met through Epicski when she made a comment about her skiing ability and remarked that few would want to ski with her because she was a lowly slow-skiing intermediate. I yelled at her (sorry dear). We were both headed to ydnar’s “free ski week” and decided (before we met) to carpool from Colorado to Utah. Nancy was headed to the east coast for business, and as I was close by, we agreed to meet and scheduled dinner with Madmike and Mrs. Madmike.

The rest is history. Never in my wildest dreams did I think when I planned the first LGC event did I think it would come to all of this. On Friday, we met at the meeting place and headed up after announcements to do our group picture. On shot three, I was standing next to ssh and my long-time friend Barry. Nancy and her daughter walked forward, and Steve began the ceremony. It was a total surprise to all the other members of the group and was met with a clamor of “wows” “whoas” and hundreds of camera clicks. The rings sported flashy orange powder leashes, just in case they dropped in the snow!

We had a total of 40 show for the free lunch event on the 6th, including “Baby Faisasy” who took his first gondola ride at the age of 2 months!

Nancy and I would like to thank you all for attending and sharing our very special day. Without EpicSki, none of this would have happened. This place touches the lives of many in more ways than we can count.

Thanks….
SC and UL

Yes, PM your request for an event application to "baby Faisal".

Hope to ski with you someday Bob. I'll be 103 at that event and you will have skied.....what....something like 720 months in a row. LET'S GO.....uh...where was it we were going?

More history......Early on Nancy was worried about becoming known as "Mrs. UL". I think we managed to avoid that, and SugarCube has her own place here. We wrestled with UncleCube, SugarLou and a few other ideas and came up with nothing we liked.

As to the pictures.....We are doing the best we can. There were plenty of Bears there with cameras. I thought I heard clicking during our vows, but it may have been from my knees knocking. I suspect there is some secret conspiricy going on......Faisal is probably overloaded and putting something together. I know bong got some amazing shots and has promised to sent me a disc, and when he does we'll be sure they get here if he doesn't post them himself. We'll have to wait and see.

(I hope somebody got a good pic of the snazzy powder leashes on the rings.)

Btw.....seeing as how I (well we....we are afterall married now) hijacked your thread.....

Happy Anniversary to you and SkierJ!

Things have worked so well here so far I'm afraid to change anything.

The Mrs. is on the other laptop completing her ESA Tahoe survey and Shadow "the wonder dog" is watching the snow falling outside.

Life is good!

Congratulations!!! Now I regret even more I could not make it to LGC. This is a super cool arrangement for a wedding!!! It actually makes the ceremony itself meaningful! Again congratulations and will see you next season.

Stroller, having seen you ski at ESA-Tahoe, I think you'd enjoy LGC very much. Thanks for the well-wishes, and hello to your wife for me too! Maybe see you at LGC IV!

I've heard of Marriage described as a free lunch but never quite so literally - at Vail no less.

Congratulations to the Bride and Groom.
