Hey, after not seeing any posts for a month, I figured its about time.

How do you end the season? Which lucky Patroller gets to rescue swim for the pond skimmer?

Our Last Day was April 1. The Hill closed the weekend before and we came up to close up the mountain-a nice 2 hours of work and then-we ran the lifts and skied--Just us Patrollers-it was sunny and warm-lot's of great bumps and good company for a few hours. And then, we BBQ-ed and drank beers. Quite a great day actually.

Nothing too fancy I guess but it wrapped up another season rather nicely.

We didn't even open this year - no snow. Only a little community hill, but it's ours and we love it.

Anyway, we have pad races from the top of the hill - go for distance, not for speed (so much). Followed by beer and BBQ.

The pond skimming with a toboggan is a new one on me. :

Tailgating and BBQ, is more my speed.

(and I might be acquiring a taste for single malt)

The day after we do tear down, travel to an undisclosed location about 3 hrs west of "here". We rented a hotsprings resort that is operated by some nice folks who are skiers. Dinner, drinking, soaking and a party with stupid awards and serious awards.

The next day we have a final breakfast together and then scatter to the 4 points of the compass until next Nov.

For 30+ very different people, my patrol gets along suprisingly well.

Look mom, I'm on TV!

I have to say, that tailgate at Kirkwood was totally excellent. I'm up for it any time!

Final sweep on the last day. NUDE. Boots and skis only. You are allowed to wear a hat, but only if it is snowing. Boys and girls both invited. One patroller puts everyones clothes in a sled and follows. No cameras allowed either!

That's nothing.  We are also nude, coked out of our minds and we are not allowed to wear boots.  Skis are bolted directly to our naked feet.  Sunscreen is for wussies.
