Ski streak...

Thread Starter
today was the 120th day in a row on skis. Yahh me!!

The streak spans 5 months, 6 ski resorts and 2 states, yes I went to jackson with out missing a day on skis.

also checked the scanner while getting on the tram today and 45 days with at least one run up the tram during normal hours and 75 days with at least one run up a chair in plain clothes. I dont get scanned if I free run in uniform.

Right now I am at least going to hit 150 days in row, I was curious on whats other streaks are on this site?

Ski Streak / End of Season Excitement

I'm up to 79 days of skiing this season. Yeah! I'd never come close to this number before.

Today was special to me because it was my first time down the Main Chute off Baldy at Alta. And my first time dropping a ski in the Main Chute. And my first time tumbling and ejecting out of my remaining ski in the Main Chute.... Much fun was had. Thanks to very good snow quality, I righted myself quickly and pretty much enjoyed the rest of the way down (although my skiing was decidedly conservative until I made it back to the Known World).

Welcome to the Hall of Justice!! There needs to be a Saturday morning cartoon named after you. Truly are one of my heros! Keep up the good work and keep us posted! You are now a super friend in my opinion! I have 37 days, a record for me. All I can say is WOW!

I just got back from a week at Copper. While there I twice shared a chair with a guy who skis 250 days/year. He retired to Frisco and has season passes at Copper, Loveland, and A-Basin. I also rode the lift with a ski patrol who knows a groomer driver who achieved some local fame by skiing 1,000+ consecutive days. He flies to South America the day Copper closes.

Good on ya. Your streak is testament to apparent good health and obvious lack of teenage daughters to herd over. My record "days in row"...: 1.

I actually rode the lift with him last September at Timberline. He was at something like 1,030 days in a row. I had see a discussion on him here on epic prior to my trip to Oregon.

There is also a few guys that have been skiing every month for a number of years.

My Streaks? This year:

Days in a row this year? Maybe 4 (I had 13 last year).
Weeks in a row: 16 and counting.
Month in a row: 19 and counting.
Year in a row: maybe 39 or 40.

That's outstanding BWPA. Way to go.

The most consecutive days I ever got was 103.

My consecutive-month streak, however, is still alive at 115. I'm trying to dream up a suitable place to celebrate ten full years of skiing every month. If I'm still alive, that'll happen this September.

The Sugarloaf guy's streak ended in Jan 2005 after skiing every day the resort was open since 1980! "It all came to an end when Schipper came down with a serious bout of the flu. He circled Jan. 4, 2005 on his calendar. It was the end of an era."
Another remarkable thing about this streak is it all came during his "retirement", i. e. from age late 50s to early 80s. Tremendous role modeling for us older guys.

I don't know if this is a streak, but I've managed to average over 120 days a season for the last 30 or so years. 82'-83' was over 200! I usually end up taking anywhere from 2 to 8 days off skis/board though.

Maybe I need a 12 step program?????
Thanks,
JF
