Actually, I find the insults in this thread are mostly directed toward TGR, not the other way around. Saying that TGR is made up of PBR beer drinkers, or minimum wage earners, or ski bums, or non-home owning people, or unprofessional, or too cheap to buy new gear, or non-college graduates, etc. That's what's been said in this thread.
The worst insult hurled at Epic has been that posters over analyze (horror of horrors!), discuss things like how to get off a chair lift vs how to huck a cliff, or that bears ski thin waisted skis.
What hasn't been mentioned in this thread is that TGR threads include topics like best recipes for one dish or another (food and recipe threads go on for weeks because there are so many gourmet cooks), or best wine to pair with a certain dish, or brag about their kid's accomplishments, or the best way to build a fence (actually a very funny thread), or real estate tax issues on their 2nd home, or real estate in general, or where to go to med school or law school, or which to buy: an Audi or a Range Rover.
Or, what TGR is (little) known for and is most representative of the community: raising money for fellow maggots when they are in need (loss of a loved one, loss of camera equipment, stolen car, cancer and medical bills). More gear is sold by maggots to raise money for others, than is sold to pay for new gear.
