Thanks skicougar

I'm not a five star guy either. I just want good food and a relaxed atmosphere and inexpensive.

well, then if you want relaxed; you might not like eirc's; its really a sportbar.

you might try cafe alpine, briar rose or Giampietro Pasta & Pizzeria instead. all right of main st. theyre all good. briar rose is the nicest, but no one dresses for dinner at a skitown.(well, maybe at beaver creek they do).

South Ridge Seafood Grill on S. Ridge St.

We're not 5 star kinda people either, but we DO appreciate a good meal.

By far the best meal I had while in Breck this year was at The Cellar. It was a tasting menu with each course paired with a wine. Everything was top notch and worth every penny.

If you asked my partner where HIS favorite place was it would be the Mexican place at the end of town. Don't remember the name, but it looked out over the restaurant that looks like a boat.

Thanks for your help! I've been skiing since 1965 and this is my first trip to Colorado. Only my third time out west. Any other advice about Breckenridge, Vail or A-Basin is appreciated. I'll be out there from April 17-23.

Jalapenos and Angel's Hollow.

If you're looking for a good burger, try the Horseshoe II on Main St.

Jalapenos (It's on the river- not easy to find but MUCH better than Mi Casa) and the Swiss Haven if you like fondue.

By the way, this is the first time this question has been asked and no one has mentioned Breck Brewery. Congratulations everyone!

Blue River Bistro. Good food and 8-page martini menu. Up on the north end of Main Street, pretty much near Breck Station / Gondola base.

Also agree with the Mi Casa recommendation for Mexican in Breck itself. If you have a car or want to hop on the free Summit Stage, the new-ish Mexican restaurant on Summit Blvd in Frisco is very good. I can never remember the name because their sign has "Mexican Restuarant" in big letters and their actual name in tiny, impossible-to-read-from-road print.

Well impossible to read if you're old and gray.

I think it's something like Casa Miguel. It's right by the Frisco Animal Hospital/Starbucks/Verlo Mattress strip mall that's right next to the Wal-Mart.

Snowpro mentioned Spencer's in Beaver Run. They are surprisingly good for an in-resort restaurant. Also if you're skiing out of Peak 9, their lunch buffet is one of the best values for real food.

Segbrown mentioned Angel's Hollow - a great casual place. Right next to the Breckenridge Theatre (home of the Backstage Theatre Company, which is currently doing a world premiere of a new play about rescuers in Amsterdam during WWII). One of the regular hangouts for the actors and crew in productions there (when not hitting the Martini menu at Blue River).

Thanks MarkXS,

It looks like the Theatre might be something to do one evening after dinner.

I agree, Vinn. Breck Brewery is not on my list of places to eat in Breck.

That's Carlos and Miguels. If the OP is going to Frisco I would recommend Q4U BBQ and Peppitos for pizza. Food Hedz is really nice for upscale food at a decent price. Farleys is pretty good for steaks and such but the Dredge in Breckenridge is better. I also like Denzaemon (sp?) for lunch. Their noodle bowls are fab!

Have fun!

Thanks for all your help I'm leaving tomorrow night from my conference and will be out of internet contact (I think). I'll check tomorrow before I leave for any other recommendations.

Not sure if you will see this in time but we just got back from four nights in Breck. My nine year old daughter and I enjoyed:

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co
Downstairs at Eric's
MotherLoaded Tavern

Heard Mi Casa and Rasta Pasta was good but did not check them out.

Erics is great.
Also try steak and rib (at the end of mainstreet) for something nicer

Fiesta Jalisco in Frisco- best Mexican around.
Last season my dad and I ate at some place that's on the street back and running parallel to the main drag. It was a wine bar/restaurant. We got their 5 course prix fix special and it was cool. Just the right amount of food and wine.

Eating in Breckenridge

Just got back from Summit County yesterday. The skiing was phenomenal, not just for spring but for anytime of year! Skied Breckenridge, Vail and A-Basin. Bluebird sky four out of five days we were there. Thanks for all your help with places to eat Spencer's brunch is without a doubt one of the best deals in "Snow County"

Oddly enough I'm agreeing. Although I've always thought it sad that I can find a dozen places in metro Detroit with better Mexican food and drink than anywhere in Summit County.

There is a place in Pagosa Springs.... can't remember the name but it was overlooking the river.... that's easily the best Mexican fare I've tried in CO.
