I waxed my skis last night and I'm headed out for my first day of the new season.

Cool! Had my third day on the hill today. The snow was good, freashly blown, so it was nice and soft. Hopefully I'll get in one more day before Christmas. Have an awesome season!

Have fun!! Where are you off to?

There is a reasonable amount of snow here where I am in Japan but it's a bit wet to be much fun, like skiing in Gorilla snot.

Still a lot better than finding rocks though. Hopefully we get some clear skies & the snow pack dries out a bit.

Happy turns everyone where ever you are.....

Thanks for the best wishes.

I went to Stevens Pass and had a blast. I would have gone to Crystal Mt. if it had more snow. Both areas are less than a two-hour drive from where I am now living near Seattle. If I had started off earlier, I would have gone to Mt. Baker however, which is a longer drive.

Somewhat to my embarrassment, when I wrote this before heading off yesterday, I forgot that my true first turns of the season were at Mt. Bachelor Thanksgiving weekend. It must have slipped my mind in the excitement of the moment because of the very limited snow Mt Bachelor had then.

Stevens Pass had only limited terrain open with grass stalks sticking out here and there but at least there were no rocks and my skis were undamaged. However, most ski areas in WA. could use some of that excess snow that is now falling in CA.

Today regrettably, I have to start my Christmas shopping.
