This is definitely a strange season. I've never skied back to back for 5 consecutive weekends. But the skiing is so good I can't let it go!
I would have skied more. But then it's time for my regular once a year fly-away trip that took me away from the Northeast... Wish I could stay...NOT.
|...not Ski Areas or Ski Industries--from their perspectives with three out of the big four holiday times being complete washouts, I'd guess this year has been a disaster.
I'm not so sure it's all that bad from the resort's prospetive.
X-mas ski trips were usually done long before the season even starts. Most people simply can't back out. So I doubt the resorts miss much for that one.
MLK day weekend was definitely a lose. But that's the smaller of the holidays. By early Feb., the temperature had started to come down for them to start making snow, and the hardcore (or optimistic) skiers started to plan for President's Day weekend. I knew I did. And was mighty glad I did.
President's Day weekend. Need I say more? It was just great!
