Yeah, we had temperatures in the 80s on Monday and Tuesday, and its been very warm for a while. Changes may be coming for the Sierra in time for ESA.

LONGWAVE RIDGE OVER WESTERN CONUS WILL BEGIN TO BREAK DOWN SUNDAY AS WEAK SHORTWAVE ENERGY MOVES INTO NORTHERN CAL. MEDIUM RANGE MODELS ONTINUE TO BE IN AGREEMENT WITH A NORTH PAC SYSTEM COMING INTO OUR AREA ON MONDAY NIGHT/TUESDAY. ECMWF AND UKMET CONTINUE TO SHOW A SPLITTING PATTERN...WITH A GOOD CHUNK OF ENERGY DROPPING INTO MORE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. ON THE OTHER HAND...12Z GFS/NCEP MEAN/CANADIAN AGREE WELL WITH THE MORE PROGRESSIVE/CONSOLIDATED SYSTEM. FOR NOW...WILL CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN CONTINUITY...FOLLOWING FASTER GFS/CANADIAN SOLUTION. RAISED POPS ACROSS THE EASTERN SIERRA ZONES TO CHANCE FOR MOUNTAIN SNOW AND VALLEY RAIN...MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY. NOT EXPECTING THIS TO BE A MAJOR STORM...BUT COULD GIVE US SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW ABOVE LAKE LEVEL. TEMPS WILL COOL OFF CLOSER TO NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR BY TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY.

Snow by tonight, Yukes. Hang on. It's not over yet.

This is the first year in 13 years that I'm excited to see Spring. With it comes the chance to get out and do something......garden, paint, bike. It beats being house prisoner.

Stinking hot here too this week. T-shirt weather in town and on the hill. I am wearing my massive collection (4) of Illegal T shirts (ie they do not have the resort's slogan and no other slogans on them). And 45 times one's skin's natural protection isn't much when your skin hasn't got any natural protection. Useless greasy stuff.

Yuki's glass-half-empty rap finally works to our advantage... he jinxed the heat wave.

Not over this side he didn't. God i'm sunburnt, and I kept re-applying the sunscreen. Ugh. Sun's gone down and it's STILL too hot.

I'm in SLC and Utah has cold & rock hard snow in the shade and soft corn in the sun. It's in the mid-fifties at Snowbird.

Its sunburn season here.

Cheers,

Michael

Don't sweat ... .... all my "doom & gloom" stuff. Sure, it's 45 degrees while I'm typing this, but my thoughts are with my kid who did his first "skinnin trip".

He was on an over night thingie were the temps were supposed to be good ol' single digit "5's".

He's learning to earn his turns ... but 5 degrees in a tent .. he's paying his dues for sure.
