God I was on the edge of manners yesterday, but I held to decency and respect for all skiers.
In front of me a guy skied Slot Chute very poorly. Traversed all the way across the top, made a weak jump turn with over rotation and static upper/lower body, and proceeded to traverse all the way across the main body of the chute in the other direction, further cutting the crappy line of some other skiers
I saw him in the lift line so I jumped on to his chair (something I've never done, I was skiing single, I know, but don't go there), a sixpac.
I told him that I saw him skiing Slot. He said: hmmmmm.
I said that I could see he was having a hard time. He agreed.
I said that when you ski like that, way over your head, you begin to ruin the snow, by setting traverse tracks that cut off the bumps. He said that snowboards were much worse.
So, in a way we connected, though he didn't buy me a beer for my efforts to preserve snow.
