As always an interesting thread and challenge concept by HS. I do admire his bravado but personally I could do with less self aggrandizement.

Regardless, I do hope this event takes place and everyone comes out without physical harm. My guess is HS will do quite well as will everyone who participates...thinking they will all come away impressed as shall many of us who will only be observing.

Fortunately for me my real “take away” from this thread comes from teledave and his particular post comment that triggered some actual real thought as to why I ski:

Is skiing a sport or a leisure activity?

Sports keep score, there is a loser and winner.
Even Bowling has scoring.
Heck, even birdwatchers document the species they've observed (a form of score keeping).

Personally, I'm scoring this THREAD based on number of posts...you guys are letting me down. there should be at least 6 pages by now.

Yeah, my MA thread was far more "successful"...........lol.

Can we do this at noon? With six guns? How about chewing tobacco and chaps? Is this to see how fast or how well, who will judge? Remember, a bowling ball rolls very fast down a hill but it's not skiing

In the mean time, try this, PB in the AM and PM, KBr in the evening with food. This is Finn's daily regime. Use 5mg per kg for the PB and 40mg per kg for the KBr as guides for the correct doses. This seems to work well for canines anyway... (please don't really try this unless your dog is epileptic)

I'm not asking for anyone to fly to vermont.....I'm sure there has to be some PMTS skiers here in the east. Or is PMTS a west coast only thing?!?!?!

Also, I would be happy to conduct this at Killington, or any other resort with decently challenging terrain in the northeast.
Yes there is.There is one out of killington living out toward Albany NY......

LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!!!!

There already is such a thing. Archive.org. It's coverage is not 100% consistent:

Not a lot makes me laugh out loud, that just did.

(Utahrds who won't admit their having an 'off' year make me laugh also...especially when they are living in Ma/Ny/Nj).

If Highway Star met up to ski against SCSA, they'd end up falling in love and getting married. Guaranteed.
But then, who would take care of Mrs. SCSA and Baby SCSA?

By the way, SCSA (I know you are out there lurking), when is your kid going to make his first DTP turn? Will there be video or pics?

HS-

Dude, I hate to tell you this....

You must be either losing your audience or your shock value, because you have only scored almost 4 pages in 36 hrs....

We had people in the pool betting you would have 8 full pages in 24 hrs... You are letting them down!

C'mon man! We are counting on you to pull through for the 48 hr pool!!!

You did much better last time. Now your odds are dropping!

But you are the ODDEST!

My MA

Too much lift on the inside ski because he skied off the edge of the trail by accident. Right hand/arm too low and too far back. (This of course assumes he presently has a right arm). Should have wiped snow off his butt from last fall.

i think you mean left

Why go Chinese? Isn't there a fairly robust series of Town Downhills back east?
Seems that would be the way to prove who's the best and ensure a fair shot for all concerned?
Or what about this new SkierCross thing? Of course anytime you enter
an actual competition there is a risk that you won't be quite as good
as you thought you are :

I know that chute. I can see it from my window. It is not for retards.

It would be a good start, but the extreme ski competition off Polar Peak would be something HS ought to try. The challeges are already out there, organized and ready to go. HS, come on out and I'll pay your entry fee!

The downhills of which you speak are for wimps; too many turns, not all that steep, designed with safety in mind to keep speeds down, and too well groomed. Peak to bottom, no gates,no judges and no excuses.

Reminds me of "Rollerball".

No penalties and no substitutions.

People get into the high 80mph range (90 isn't unheard of) at the George Syrovatka DH at Jay Peak. thats plenty fast, at 85mph you are NOT safe, no matter what kind of precautions are taken. It was held last weekend though.
Let's take away one lame excuse for not showing. I'll throw in a free lift ticket (not valid on Saturdays) for any known PTMSer that wants to throw down with HS.

Vivian is small, energetic mid-aged woman who has taken some PMTS to add to her 'bag of tricks'. I spent a day learning with her and she is more a traditional type teacher than strictly PMTS. I enjoyed the day, she is a very nice woman, but not what HS has in mind.
Wouldn't it be lovely if Diana Rogers showed up to kick a little hs butt! Love it when a woman takes down a cocky fellow like that.
But this is what this guy does, stirs up pages of stupid quasi- controversy.
Please, if this ever goes down (which IMO it should) let there be video or at least pics.
Lets break it down:

Background: HH-- raced world cup

HS-- raced a bit in high school

Advantage HH

Athletics: HS-- is in his twenties (but acts 13)

HH --is in his 50's (but acts 13)

Advantage HS

Smack:

HS- Posts egotistical chest thumping crap on the internet

HH- OWNS a website full of chest thumping egotistical crap

(note: I understand they are both quite nice in person)

Match goes to HH
