Ok......I've had it with the entire PMTS attitude problem.....this was the last straw:

That's a new low.....not just the first post, but the whole thread. While I don't particularly like PSIA either, the ****ishness of the PMTS system is quite unreal. THUS:

I CHALLENGE ANY PMTS SKIER TO A SKI-OFF, including Herald Harb himself. I want to see if any of you can ACTUALLY SKI. Somehow, I doubt it....I think you're all attitude, hype, and carving groomers.

This will be conducted at Stowe, VT, any time before the end of the '06/'07 ski season, preferably on a weekend, to make it easier for most people. I suggest before the end of March, since conditions are excellent right now. I'm there every weekend, ususally for a long weekend - you name the time and place, I'll be there. Don't bother PMing me, my box is full intentionally....post up here, for everyone to see.

Ski-off rules: The ski-off is a challenge to test one's overall skiing ablity. I am the challenger, you are the challenged. As the challenged, you pick the route/line, and get to ski it first. I follow, and attempt to roughly match or surpass your route, skiing style and speed, for the entire run. Then I pick a route, I ski it, and you follow it, attempting to match or better me. Repeat until someone gives up, is injured, obviously can't keep up, or a tie is declared. There is no specific judging criteria aside from the above, and this competition is not decided by any single run or criteria - it is an overall test of if you can ski, or not. We can bring witnesses, and they can shoot video if you want. Bring a ski that will perform well all around on the conditions of the day.

Based on what has been said about my skiing ablity here on epicski, I am either a strong expert skier with un-definable technique, or a high intermediate with major backseat and balance problems........depending on who you want to believe. Any PMTS black skier should be able to make quick work of me.........or perhaps not. Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm pretty convinced that I can actually ski.....can you????

If anyone would like to cross post this the Realskiers forum, that would be appriciated - I am quite serious about this.

I predict a tie . . . Any reasonably decent skier (of any clique or persuasion) should be more than capable of "keeping up" with you

This is not a callout to anyone besides PMTS skiers though....so if you're not, well, tough.

Yeah, I'm not . . .

I'll call you out sometime . . . but Stowe isn't good for me this year . . . Maybe early next year.

I think this is kind of a juvenille idea but the additude and arogance over at real skiers is so shocking that I can not say any thing other than: Highway Star, I hope they show up and you kick thier asses

I think it would be extremely unwise for you, or anyone else, to judge my skiing by a few video clips on the internet.

I'm happy to tango with anyone PMTS can put up, no matter the background. In fact, I'd much rather it was someone with some skills.

Highway Star...just a few notes here and this IS NOT PERSONAL. I think HH and (should they show) Clendennin and Brooksbank (I think he is PMTS too) would mop the floor with you but as for the rest it would be a fun challange to watch.

Mr. Harb has been invited to attend "Lets Go Colorado III" (by myself here and SCSA suggested it at Real Skiers and Harald did respond on his own forum that he had no interest). I know SCSA will be in attendance here.

I'd say change your venue.

Harald's home hill is Loveland and we have days scheduled there as well as all around the county. I bet you would get a ton of PMTS guys here to show their stuff if you held it in Harolds "back yard".

You would also have a ton of PSIA guys show here too, Examiners, Trainers and all level Certs. Keystone is Barnes' house only a few miles away too.

I can't imagine a stronger more competitive group all skiing head to head short of actual competitions, and a "face to face" of all the players here and at Real Skiers would be nothing short of amazing.

My only suggestion is that no matter how ugly it gets on the hill we all shake hands at the end and go skiing.

HS, you never fail to top yourself. You're my new idol.

Just checked out that thread. Phil, way to keep fighting the good fight, but you're wasting your time with those clowns.

By the way, anyone who isn't offended by that thread and who isn't impressed with HS's challenge -- that means you MattChuck -- is just a small person unable to put behind them their prior disagreements with HS .

As for my question, I talked to some guy as I was headed off the hill to go to work, he seemed like a nice guy, seemed stoked, showed me his BD's...talked about a couple lines, he was wearing white/green flexons. I noticed what appear to be white and green flexons in a picture you posted on another thread...thought I may have been speaking with you. Enough context?

Hummm....in the parking lot? With the scott p4's? Cool, small world. Keep it on the DL about my truck and stuff, ok?

Also ran into "epic" that day, who rips pretty hard....he dropped a nice cliff to flat, with some kids in tow (private lesson/clinic?). I didn't ski particularly well in front of him......4th day in a row, sore knees, first run, not warmed up, etc. I was expecting some sort of callout based on that....but evidently not.

Anytime either you guys want to ski, let me know....or just keep a lookout.

Yes, that was me. I'm on the hill more now than earlier in the season (surprise), I work on weekends but I'm out almost every morning, I'll keep an eye out for you. It would be fun to make some turns.

not sure what I would tell anyone (who would I tell and WHY?) about your truck...I notice gear, vehicles are less interesting to me and I wish you no ill will.

HS I'm on record as saying you are a very dynamic all mountain skier capable of skiing very difficlut terrain in challenging conditions. However, HH is a professional skier. He's not an imposter and a poser. He raced on the World Cup, skied on the D Team, he posseses technique that he has thought through and won't break down in any conditions. Skiing is HH's business. He can bring it.

You're competitive and that's admirable. But even I think that you calling him out is way over the top and ridiculous.

Harold Harb maybe an execellent skier (as well as a dick) but I think highway star is calling out his minions more than the man himself

Ski off? We don't need no schtinking ski off!

Judges arguing over who had the best steeze, the best carve, the most control in the bumps, etc. until the cows come home.....

No. There's only one way to settle this. Chinese downhill. Top of the lift to the bottom. Any root, any skis. Any style. Only fixed points are start and finish. First one down wins. The rest is BS. :
