Day 5: Our last day. We got another 5" on top of the 6" we got yesterday. What a sweet day it what. Where yesterday was Epic, today was Diva-licious. We started off on the Pony Express and skiied the trees there for the first couple of runs, we had fresh tracks in the Aspens for a while. We headed up to the Christmas Tree bowl, but had to go through Morningside to get there. By 10:00 Morningside was already sticky, we made one run there before heading to the Bowl. Once we got over into the bowl and away from the sun, the snow got much better. We skied the from the CB to Stormpeak then up to the Shadows, by 11 even Shadows was sticky. Over to have lunch at Rondevoux for lunch then back over to the Pony express area.
By 1;30 the snow was soo heave and out legs were toast that we started to head in. We stopped over at the terrain park and watched some of the kids jump. There was also a mogul comp going on that we watched a few competitors.
Summery: We really enjoyed Steamboat. We went into town once for dnner, that was pretty good. The mountain is much bigger than the trail map makes it appear. We chose Steamboat for its trees and bumps. We were not disappointed on either account. It was great to ski with Steve and Bong. Having the Skidiva along was a trip. She got a 2 on 1 private lesson from Steve and Bong and her skiing made a huge leap. All in all, I can't wait to come back.
