OK, I will admit I am not a huge fat ski fan but that's largely due to not skiing in a lot of pow over 2'. Heres the debate. I am looking for a good ski to leave in Steamboat for skiing trees and more of the terrain over by The Closets and the areas around the Chutes (not the chutes). Aspen groves, steeps, some rocked areas (no real drops more than 5-7' Not good enough yet) I am 43, 178 6'; solid 8 skier. My issue is that I want to have good manueverability in the trees and tight spots so I am concerned a 88mm or wider ski won't be good for this. Phil thinks (and is probably right) I should go to the 88, Elan 888 or similar. I need to demo but I am hoping some of you with tree and chute experience can offer a first hand opinion. Will these be good even in 8" plus? I have Head 82's now.
