Friends, I am taking my family to Banff in April. Went through SkiCan for a pkg deal that includes pretty much everything but lessons. When we were at Whistler a few years ago we did the Ski Esprit program - three days of lesson with the same group/instructor. It was a great experience that I had hoped to duplicate in Banff. There is a three day deal for around $240 CAN through Club-ski. Unfortunately, the cycle begins on Sunday or Thursday. We are arriving on Sunday and leave on Friday which means a lost day either way. This leaves me with the option of single day lessons which are considerably more expensive - eg. Lake Louise is $115 for a full day or $82 for half. Sunshine is $150 per day, though it does have a three day program for $450 (lunch included), though it may run on the same rotation. Any suggestions out there for other options - perhaps hiring an instructor independently form the mountain schools, if that is feasible/ethical? Thanks.
