I just bought a pair of Salomon Performa 8s, skied one weekend on them and had a buckle clasp break. I took them back to exchange them, and they were out of the Performas in my size, so they exchanged them for the 07 Salomon X-Wave 8 for the same price. I liked the way the Performas skied, and I am an intermediate, spending 75% of my time on the blues, and 25% on the Blacks in the northeast. I am 6'1", 190lbs. Did I make a mistake in going with the stiffer X-Wave, or will I even notice the difference? The new boots seemed to fit very well, so I thought it was a good deal, getting the higher priced boot for the same as a model level down, i just don't want to be over-booted. The X-Wave is rated at a stiffness of 90. Could that be too stiff for me for what I use them for? Thanks.
