Can someone please give me a recommendation or let me know what they are using?
Hey Kestner. Good question. The World Cup has 3 bands like the racer but a sneaky piece of solid nylon strapping sewn in between the back two elastic strands. This makes the World Cup almost the same as your solid nylon power strap. Yeah, it gives a little more but is more a marketing deal so the top guys can use them and get paid the $$ for sporting them.
For us mere mortals, regardless of your size and build the racer will actually function that way the Booster is designed. That is, to give you a little give and rebound off the forward flex of your boot theoretically providing a bit more "feel" and finesse in pressuring and edging.
A point to consider. If you can't flex your boot adequately you don't need a booster strap. If you can over flex your boot you don't need a booster strap.
I use the World Cup but have cut the nylon strap between behind the last two elastic straps. When I got mine the WC had a bit more beefy nylon webbing and the elastic was a bit beefer as well (which would not have mattered with the solid nylon webbing that is sewn in). I like the "feel" of the Booster as do many of my master buddies.
So I'd recommend getting the WC and cutting that nylon webbing layer (you'll see it) or get the RACER if everything is the same and the racer simply doesn't have that nylon "spoiler" in there.
Disclaimer: I haven't seen the WC this year so I'm not 100% sure that WC version sold in retail stores has the nylon strip sewn in anymore. I got mine from Rossi's race room early last year so they may have been the "Real WC" model
