FS: Volkl AC4 (red) 170 cm

Great shape, skied little. Includes component bindings. Reason for sale: TOO MANY SKIS IN CLOSET. I really have enjoyed these the few times I've skied them, although they may be more than a person of my weight, strength and skill really needs. In all candor, oboe needs to settle on one pair of skis and get out of the buying skis business. My crate, your freight. No reasonable offer refused.

Edit: oboe prefers e-mail. Please click on his username up there in the left corner of this post, and select the e-mail option. Thanks. (ssh)

In response to a question I've received, these are the 2006/2007 model with the Marker 12 Piston bindings. They've had very little use, and the tops and bases are in excellent condition.

I have no idea what a fair price would be, so if any of the dealers or other knowledgeable people here have some thoughts on that, please share them.

I'm interested in the AC4's. Let me know if they are still available and at what price.

For general information: I want to get the best fair price I can. Checking on ebay, I have found only one pair of AC4 BRAND NEW and selling for $839 "Buy it now". The highest bid at this time on ebay is $809.

I have called the Ski Magazine Gold Medal Demo Center at Smugglers' Notch and asked what they sell for after being demoed by the masses. The answer I got was $600. I guess that the AC4 is a very popular ski, and they're rare as hens' teeth, new or used.

A ski shop here in Syracuse was going out of business and sold them at $599. Of course they lasted about 30 seconds at that price...I failed to push down the little old lady standing between me and the only pair of 177's they had, so I lost out : . And yes, that price included the bindings.

hrstrat, the answer will be provided when the sale is done. I am, in all candor, amazed at the interest in the AC4's. They seem to be rather desirable and rather rare. I expect they'll be spoken for by this time next week, if not sooner.

P.S. hrstrat, is this not entirely consistent with my history on this web site?

Just a note that oboe prefers e-mail over PMs. Please click on his username in one of his posts and select the e-mail option to send him an e-mail about these skis.

Thanks!

Like the satisification of a woman, the one ski quiver is unobtainable.

B,
You could've used the $900 Tao Pro Ultralight Titanium/Kevlar/Carbon Elbow Pads....would've just been a swing of the arm!

I'm told a postal money order is in the mail, and when it arrives, the AC4's will be spoken for.

The Volkl All Stars also gone, officially.

The new baby one pair quiver is (drumroll, please) . . . .

Hmm, they might be rare in the East, but in Colorado I have seen piles of them (today no less) in Glenwood Springs at both Sports Authority (used to be Gart's) and Mountain Sports Outlet. They are going for around 650.00 or so at Sports Authority (including the 25% discount).. And Mountain Sports Outlet will match any deal that Sports Authority has going..(on a complete side note I just bought a pair of Mantra's for 500.00. Mounted up with rossi bindings (forget the model) the whole thing including tax came out to 662.00. Mantra + Allstar should equal an awesome quiver.)

If you are coming out to CO, you can probally get a good deal on the AC4

There are starting to be some deals out there!!
