tough day!!

I was on of the lucky ones that drove up early Friday AM to ski the powder at Vail today. Those that didn't make it, you missed a decent half day. All of the bowls were closed, which made for longer lift lines and a very quick skiing out of the powder. Then, the wind went from bad to trecherous!!!!! 90 percent of the mountain was closed, with only 3 lifts running for the second half of the day. The powder was gone quickly and all that remained was hard crust after a terrible wind blowing. Not complaining, as I sitll got to ski and had a great half day. Just letting those that didn't make it know they didn't miss all that much. It would make me feel better knowing this, had I been the one stuck working

We had lift closures from 11am to the end of the day. I was up till 1:30 and found some fun deep snow. Ajax has much less exposure than Vail.

lucky for you guys. I was in the throng trying to make it to Summit County this morning. We made it to Georgetown before they closed I70 and turned us around. 3.5 hours for nothing. I guess I'll try again tomorrow.

we left Denver at 8 am this morning and got to vail by about 1:30 (after a stop for lunch in Frisco.) Parking lot for the first two hours, but by the time we got to the Eisenhower Tunnel they'd finished the Avalanche control and we got through. Vail pass was completely fine, it was just those two hours getting to Golden!
