Tweak RX6 bevel for more edge hold?

I rx6s in 160, kryptons, 40 yo 5'7" 140 lbs. Skiing east coast. I just got back into skiing last year and now just started nastar and I'm hooked. I raced twice and best handicap was 25.
I had my skis tuned a few weeks ago, shop said the factory bevel is 2 and 1 for the rx6. i think the rx8 is 3 and 1.
I can see I will be addicted to racing, but I've blown my gear budget so I am curious if the RX6 can be tweaked for a little more performance (and edge grip). Should i consider having the edge bevel done at 3? Is there a downside, or shouldnt i mess with the factory set up?

You can have it tuned to 1 and 3. There's no down side. I didn't know the RX6 was set up different then the RX8, but it makes sense as the RX6 is intended for less aggressive use, as compared to the RX8.

Binding 15mm back? The edge bevel probably wont affect your speed.. Maybe a regular wax before the race?

I did nastar a month back and ended up with a 25 handicap as well.. I got 165 Rx8s and I am 140 pounds with all my gear on . Maybe we are weight challenged.

I didn't know (nor do I believe) that the RX-6 came with a 2 deg side angle. As far as I know, all Fishers are 1 deg base and 3 deg side. I have RX-6's and that is how I have tuned them. I also have RX-8's, RX-9's, AMC-76's, WC SL's, WC SC's, WC RC's, and they are all set to 1 deg base and 3 deg side. You may want to call Fischer to confirm, but my tuning guide shows all Fischer's at 1 deg base and 3 deg side. Your shop may be telling you their general tuning setting and not the mfg's.

I have demo bindings, so I can try moving them back a bit. Plus they help with my weight-challenged state.
Coug, maybe nastar should have an under 150 lbs category! I think my next skis will be rx8s in 165.
I also thought all the rxs were 3 deg edge bevel and was surprised when the shop (who sells the rx6) told me it was 2. Maybe that guy was mistaken. Either way, next time I will have them bevelled at 3 deg and see how I like it.
I do need to do more regular waxing, but since I have only skiid gates twice in my life, I didn't want the skis running too fast yet!
Thanks for the replies.
